Siesta Key, FL

It was a vacation with lots of "firsts" for Isaac. His first time flying in an airplane...
His first time on the beach...and in the ocean...His first time to touch a shark! His first time digging for shells. As much as I'd like to say this was the first time he ate sand... yeah, not so much.

MSBC Ground Breaking

On Sunday, July 20th, our church held it's ground-breaking ceremony. Unfortunately, we were in Florida on vacation at the time and had to miss the event. Here is a picture of the Building Committee getting ready to make the first dig. Pastor is on the far left and my Dad is third from the left. Had we not been on vacation, there would have been no other place that I would rather have been than at this ceremony. God has blessed Charles and I with an awesome church and pastor. We are very grateful.

Chuck E Cheese

On July 11th, Isaac and I went to Jakeb Alma's birthday party at Chuck E Cheese! It was Isaac's first time there. He was scared of the electronic characters and I had to strongly encourage him to stay seated in the moving car rides. He loved throwing the Ski Balls and climbing around in the tunnel in the ceiling (I climbed around with him the first time and bruised up my knees. The second time he followed Kaleb Alma through the tunnel). It was a fun time!

July 4th celebration

On July 5th, we went to the Alma's house for a picnic and fireworks. We had a really nice time and a lot of people showed up for the fireworks! Isaac got to play in the sandbox and on the kiddie slide (he didn't like it when other kids tried to climb up the slide when it was HIS turn to go down the slide... check out his facial expression). Then we enjoyed about half of the Alma's fireworks display before the police came and told us to stop. Overall, it was a good time and I can't imagine what the Grand Finale of the fireworks could have been... the first half was very impressive!

Guacamole... yum :)

Isaac tasted his first burrito on Sunday. He pulled my arm to him until he could reach my hands, then proceeded to take large bites out of my burrito. He seemed to really like it :) Charles took this picture with his cell phone... check out Isaac's death grip on the burrito!!

July 1st!

Today, Isaac had a play date with Morgan and Maddie Anacker. We went to their house first and Isaac played with all the girls' Elmo and Sesame Street toys! (of which Megan (their Mom) gave a few toys to Isaac to keep). Morgan kept asking Isaac to say a word, and when he said it, she would get excited that he was repeating her. Maddie wanted to hold Isaac, which is pretty funny because she is only a couple years older than him. She was little disappointed that he did not cooperate.
Then, we went to Smith Park in Middletown, where there is a neat water area for the kids. Water shoots up from the ground and out of rings that the kids can walk through. At first, Isaac was unsure of the water, but he warmed up to it. Also, he was laughing a lot and following the other kids around. It was fun, but Isaac was very sleepy, so we didn't get to stay very long. He fell asleep in the car on the way home and continued to sleep an additional 3 hours once we got home.
